This iteration of the Air Jordan 5 that was released back in 2000 was apparently Jordan Brand’s way of keeping things clean and simple. For 23isBack readers who do not remember, this pair had hit the shelves in Spring 2000, and the colorway made it an ideal sneaker for Jordan heads for the summer. It is true that this pair was the last of the sneakers to have been released in 2000. However, this Air Jordan 5 “White/Metallic Silver/Black” is making a comeback, with one of the Jordan release dates 2015 to have been confirmed for this pair.
Dino Hatfield, the man who founded the Baltimore Sneaker Show, recently confirmed that this pair is among the retro sneakers that will be remastered by Jordan Brand next year. Of course, this is quite a gap since it was almost 15 years ago that this Air Jordan V colorway had made its retail debut.
For 23 is Back readers who have a preference for simpler colorways, this monochromatic colorway will prove to be quite ideal for them. After 2000, it had become rather difficult for Jordan heads to get their hands on this sneaker. They have not been retroed ever since then, and perhaps the only pair that looked similar to it was the “White/University Blue/Team Red” colorway of the Air Jordan V Low that was released only for women. However, this “White/Metallic Silver” has been released as a Retro+.
Like before, an all white leather upper is featured by this sneaker, with a 3M tongue and silver accents. Moreover, the heel also has the “23” stitched into it, which was one of the highlights of this new jordans. Obviously 23isBack readers will now be looking forward to the release of this colorway, especially if they have been waiting to cop it for all these years. April 4, 2015 is one of the Jordan release dates 2015 has been confirmed for the Air Jordan V “Black/Metallic Silver/White” to be released.
