Over the past couple of years, the NBA has given its admirers and aficionados something to look forward to apart from the offseason coming to an end. Every time a new installment of the NBA 2K basketball video game series is released, it ends up creating a lot of hype. That is precisely what the NBA 2K16 has been doing and a special Air Jordan iteration featured in the game may actually end up being up for grabs.
While Anthony Davis, James Harden and Stephen Curry are amongst the cover athletes of 2016, Michael Jordan can also be spotted as a cover athlete on the special edition of NBA 2K16. Both gamers and sneakerheads likely recall the limited 2,014 pairs of the LeBron 11 “2K14″ that could only be earned and copped by playing NBA 2K14 and reaching several milestones. Apparently, the anxious sneaker community can expect something similar in the case from NBA 2K16, which was recently hinted in a Tweet by Ronnie 2K, the spokesperson of 2K Games.
It has already been revealed that NBA 2K16’s special edition will not only include in game bonuses like awesome outfits for a gamer’s MyPlayer character, but also physical bonuses like a Jordan Mini Fathead Wall Decal and a Jordan Upper Deck poster. Above all, gamers will also be unlock exclusive sneakers for their MyPlayer character as well, especially the Black, Red and White Air Jordan 14 with Yellow seen here, which was also featured in Ronnie 2K’s Tweet.
While this could be nothing more than promotion of the game itself, to get Jordanheads more hyped up to grab a copy of the special edition, even though they probably do not need any more encouragement. However, this may also be a sign that history will repeat itself and an actual Air Jordan 14 “2K16” rendition may hit the shelves sometime in the future on one of the Jordan release dates 2015 or 2016.
