Soon after the Air Jordan 1 with “Nike Air” branding was brought back, Jordan Brand started to drop the revamped Air Jordan 1 Retro Low in OG colorways of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High. Consequently, 2015 marked the release of the AJ 1 Retro Low in the iconic “Bred” and “Royal” colorways. 2015 proved to be a splendid year for the low-top Air Jordan 1 and by the end of the year, Jordan Brand decided to bring back the AJ 1 Retro Low “Shadow.” Recently, rumors began spreading that the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Shadow” was also returning in 2017, but apparently it will not.
Jordan Brand dropped the AJ 1 Retro Low “Shadow” on December 30th, 2015 and the sneaker retailed for $130. The last time the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Shadow” hit the shelves was back in July 2013. It is one of the colorways that made their original retail debut when the Air Jordan 1 was introduced for the very first time back in 1985. Back in 2013, it seemed like the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Shadow” would be the final release to bear the “Nike Air” logo on the tongues and this was somewhat true, at least until Jordan Brand brought back the branding.
Not too long ago, it was being rumored that the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Shadow” would be joining the Air Jordan releases 2017. However, Jordan Brand has confirmed that this sneaker will not hit the shelves next year, but apparently one of the model’s other original colorways will take its place and arrive at retailers once again. It will be the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Royal” and much like the recently released “Banned” iteration, it will be somewhat of a remastered retro, made up of the same materials as the original.
Thus, sneakerheads can get the thought of copping a pair of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Shadow” out of their head. Fortunately, they will are receiving another chance to add the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Royal” to their collection and should just keep checking back for further updates.
