One of the iconic Air Jordan 10 colorways from the City Series is returning to join this year’s Air Jordan releases 2019. After announcing his first retirement in 1993 to pursue a professional baseball career, it seemed like Michael Jordan would never again perform on an NBA court. Hence, the Air Jordan 10 was designed as a tribute to Michael Jordan and a select group of NBA players received PE colorways that collectively became known as the City Series once they hit the shelves.
This month’s Air Jordan releases 2018 will include an Air Jordan 10 colorway designed collaboratively by Jordan Brand and Maya Moore. The 4–time WBNA champion has a long history of teaming up with Jordan Brand, which dates back to 2011 when they whipped up three different PE iterations of the Jordan Fly Wade for her. She has also received two Air Jordan 10 PE colorways in the past, namely a “Championship” iteration back in 2012 and another iteration that was a part of 2017’s Maya Moore x Jordan Brand Collection. Maya Moore’s latest Air Jordan 10 colorway probably looks familiar since it resembles Aleali May’s Air Jordan 1 “Viotech.”
It seems one of next month’s upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018 will include a sneaker colorway that is receiving the retro treatment for the very first time since its debut back in 1995. The colorway being referred to is the Air Jordan 10 “Orlando” from the City Series Pack. The year before the pack’s unveiling, i.e. 1994, Michael Jordan shocked everyone when he announced his retirement in order to pursue a professional baseball career. Michael Jordan was absent when the Air Jordan 10 was introduced. Hence, Jordan Brand whipped up the City Series so that NBA’s most prominent rising stars could rock the model on the court.
