Back in February of this year, Jordan Brand released three different Air Jordan 8 releases. One of them was a women’s exclusive colorway that joined this year’s Air Jordan releases 2018 several days prior to Valentine’s Day, making its retail debut February 9th at a price of $190. The remaining two were the “Black” and “White” OVO x Air Jordan 8 colorways. These made their retail debut on February 16th, 2018 for $225, but exclusively via Nike’s SNKRS app as a part of an online draw. Recently, a photo was leaked of an upcoming Air Jordan 8 colorway, being referred to as South Beach due to its color scheme.
Back in July, the Air Jordan 8 was also a part of the Air Jordan PE Collection that the Florida Gators received from Jordan Brand. Earlier this year, Chubbs revealed several of the highly-coveted Air Jordan PEs that are a part of Drake’s sneaker collection. In case you are wondering, Nessel “Chubbs” Beezer is a part of Drake’s inner circle and his head of security. Those PEs included the Air Jordan 4 “Splatter,” an Air Jordan 11 “Snakeskin,” the UNDEFEATED x Air Jordan 4, and others. Also among them was the Air Jordan 8 “Charles Oakley” PE, which looks a tad bit similar to the upcoming “South Beach” colorway.
The photo of the Air Jordan 8 Retro “South Beach” you see at the top was shared on Instagram by @zsneakerheadz. Primarily, this colorway draws inspiration from the tropical aesthetic of South Beach. Overall, it has predominantly White uppers, with Black visible over the inner lining, midsoles and the strap. However, vibrant hues like Hot Pink, Orange, Teal and Turbo Green can be spotted at the frontfront, mudguard overlay and the tongue. It seems that this iteration might even come with additional Teal-colored laces. Reportedly, this South Beach-inspired Retro colorway of the Air Jordan 8 will make its retail debut on October13th, 2018 at a price of $190.
