Amidst all the Air Jordan releases 2018 that were arriving back in May, photos of the above Air Jordan 1 colorway also popped up online. As revealed then, this colorway has indeed been designed for the rock band Shinedown, in celebration of their sixth studio album “Attention Attention,” which was released on May 4th, 2018. The above latest photo is one of three that were shared on Instagram by the band’s founder and lead singer, Zach Myers (@zmyersofficial). In addition to its Black and Yellow color scheme, the exclamation mark from the album’s cover also appears on the heels. Just 23 pairs have been produced for Friends and Family.
The Sports Illustrated Colorway
You can expect the Air Jordan releases 2018 for the Holiday Season to be unveiled in the coming months. In fact, one of them already has been. As you can see above, this Air Jordan 1 colorway has been dubbed “Sports Illustrated” as it draws inspiration from and is a tribute to Michael Jordan’s first appearance on the magazine’s cover from December 1984. The cover had “A STAR IS BORN” written over it in Green, which was apparently borrowed to add a pop of color to this otherwise Black and White iteration. In particular, the Nike “Swoosh” logos are dressed up in multiple shades of Green.
Next Year’s Colorway
Finally, the Air Jordan 1 colorway you see above is dubbed “Court Purple.” Although there is no confirmation of this, it could possibly be inspired by the “Court Purple” Pack Nike released back in May, while it has borrowed the color blocking of the Air Jordan 1 “Bred Toe.” The vibrant hue it gets its nickname from appears over the ankles, heels, rubber outsoles, toe boxes and tongue tags, while the rest of is dressed up in Black and White, including all-White midsoles. This Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Court Purple” is scheduled to make its retail debut on September 22nd, 2018 at a price of $160.
