By now, sneakerheads must already know that Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan, owns one of the leading Jordan Brand sneaker stores today. Aptly named Trophy Room, it was inspired by the actual trophy room in Michael Jordan’s family house. Back in June, there was a massive Air Jordan restock that took place at Trophy Room and in just a matter of minutes, the restocked sneakers sold out. These included the Air Jordan 1 “Top 3,” the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam,” the Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux,” and numerous others. It seems that this month might even mark the debut of another Trophy Room x Jordan Brand exclusive release.
Trophy Room was opened more than a year ago in Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Ever since the store’s opening, Trophy Room has already collaborated with Jordan Brand twice. The first one was the Air Jordan 23 that arrived exclusively at the store in celebration of its three month anniversary, and the second one was the Air Jordan 16 “French Blue” that hit the shelves last year. Just recently, Marcus Jordan posted a tweet hinting that another Trophy Room one-day exclusive could be joining upcoming Air Jordan releases 2017. While his tweet was vague, the retro release could be the Air Jordan 17 featured here.
Sneakerheads probably recall seeing photos of this Air Jordan 17 iteration back in May. It was among the Air Jordan 17 PEs colorways that were on display at Trophy Room around that time. This particular one still does not have a nickname, but this latest photo of the sneaker was shared on Instagram by Sneaker Info. (@pinoe77). As can be seen it features suede uppers dressed up entirely in Grey, while it also sports contrasting Black- and White-colored detailing, and some Gold-colored accents can be spotted too. Furthermore, it has been reported that only 5,000 pairs of this sneaker have been produced, so it will be a limited exclusive.
Jordan Brand has not yet announced or confirmed whether this exclusive and limited sneaker will even be joining this year’s Jordan releases 2017 and when exactly. However, if this Trophy Room x Air Jordan 17 is the retro release that Marcus Jordan alluded to in his tweet, he suggests that it will make its retail debut this very month in October.
