Following Drake’s departure from Jordan Brand, Travis Scott has become their leading endorser from the world of hip-hop. Much like Drake, Travis has previously collaborated with Jordan Brand and all of them have revolved around Cactus Jack, which is the name of his record label and his own nickname. Like Drake, Travis also teamed up with Jordan Brand back in September 2017 to whip up a special iteration of the Jordan Trunner LX, although it did not end up hitting the shelves. Joining upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018, this year marks the first time that a collaborative sneaker by Jordan Brand and Travis Scott will arrive at retailers.
Last year, even Nike asked Travis Scott to design his own special colorway of the Air Force 1 Low. Travis actually laced up in the iteration at Nike’s official NBA launch that took place back in September 2017. The Air Force 1 Low “Travis Scott” was a part of Nike’s “AF100” that debuted in November that year and the sneaker eventually hit the shelves at select Nike retailers too on December 3rd, 2017. That same month, Travis made a court-side appearance rocking a “Cactus Green” variation of the Air Force 1 Low, which turned out to be an exclusive that never made it to retailers.
Jordan Brand has been collaborating with Travis Scott for a long time, but one thing that will be different about their latest one is that the resulting sneaker will be one of this year’s Air Jordan releases 2018. The Air Jordan 4 is the model that has been chosen for this collaboration and judging from these very first photos from zSneakerHeadz (@zsneakerheadz), its nubuck and suede uppers will be predominantly dressed up in a Blue hue, while also featuring Black-, Red- and White-colored detailing. A noticeable, special highlight of this collaborative iteration appears to be the “Cactus Jack” branding and speckles that are visible over the heels.
Unlike previous collaborative releases by Jordan Brand and Travis Scott, you will eventually be able to cop a pair of this one if you are interested. In fact, this Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4 “Cactus Jack” will reportedly make its retail debut somewhere in June 2018.
