The latest sneaker news that has been making headlines is that the Air Jordan 12 is returning and will be one of the many Jordans 2016 releases, but that is not the only news that has been circulating. Not so long ago, it was confirmed that Jordan Brand would be dropping the “French Blue” and “Varity Red” iterations of the Air Jordan 12 next year. Now a credit source has reported that OG colorways of the Air Jordan 12, including the “Flu Game,” will also be making a come back on one of the Air Jordan release dates 2016, perhaps in the form of remastered retros.
Sneakerheads who happen to follow basketball likely agree that the NBA Finals back in 1997 posed one of fairest yet toughest challenges the Chicago Bulls had ever faced in the form of the Utah Jazz. The Utah Jazz squad had consisted of John Stockton, Karl Malone, and other powerhouses that had led to 64 victories. The Bulls, who were the reigning Champs at the time, would have to put in their very best in order to emerge victorious, and before the series, Michael Jordan received a new pair of sneakers to motivate him further.
That sneaker was the Black and University Red colorway of the Air Jordan 12 that is dubbed “Flu Game,” which is one of the three renditions that will be joining the Air Jordan releases 2016. Michael Jordan had been suffering from flu when he defeated the Utah Jazz in in Game 5 of the Finals while wearing this sneaker. The other two pairs are a Carolina Blue and Obsidian-like colorway, which is perhaps a homage to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, and a pink and white colorway, which could be a girls-exclusive sneaker.
Based on the only photo of the three sneakers that has been circulating all over the web, the three kicks appear to be in baby sizes. However, it is very likely that the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” and these other two colorways are going to hit the shelves on one of the Air Jordan release dates 2016, hopefully in both men’s and women’s adult sizes.
