A camouflaged-covered iteration of Russell Westbrook’s Jordan Why Not Zer0.2 made its retail debut among recent Air Jordan releases 2019. Inspired by Russell Westbrook’s fashion sense and style, Jordan Brand initially assumed that it would be better off with a lifestyle sneaker model like the Westbrook 0. It was not until last year that Russell Westbrook received his own signature basketball sneaker model in the form of the Why Not Zer0.1, which debuted on February 15th, 2018. Jordan Brand kicked off this year by releasing its successor, the Jordan Why Not Zer0.2, which made its retail debut on January 10th, 2019 in a “Future History” colorway.
As of lately, there seem to have been a number of Jordan Why Not Zer0.2 iterations with somewhat similar color schemes, which includes its debut iteration as well. Another early example of an iteration with such a similar color scheme would be the one from the 2019 Black History Month Collection. Yet another example includes the “All-Star” colorway that made its retail debut two months ago on February 17th, 2019. In fact, most of the recent colorways of the Jordan Why Not Zer0.2, including the one you see here, seem as if they draw inspiration from Nike’s “What The” series.
Apparently, the mixed and matched nature of this and other recent Jordan Why Not Zer0.2 colorways reflect Russell Westbrook’s own extravagant and flamboyant fashion choices off the court. Most of its multi-textured uppers appear to be covered in Black, in addition to featuring a tiger camouflage pattern throughout, most noticeably over its toeboxes. Hyper Pink and Volt can also be spotted over its uppers, while its soles are covered in Light Smoke Grey. Each lateral collar also features a large tag with the initials “IDC,” inspired by Russell Westbrook’s “I don’t care” statement about Stephen Curry. As mentioned, this iteration has already joined recent Air Jordan releases 2019.
