The last time Jordan Brand and Public School New York had collaborated was during the final month of the previous year. Both these brands kept sneakerheads waiting breathlessly with anticipation over what the two of them were working on. Eventually, December 12th, 2015 had been officially announced as the release date of the PSNY x Jordan Brand collaboration. Sneakerheads probably recall that back near the end of May 2016, Jordan Brand had dropped three Swoolsh-less Air Jordan 1 iterations. That particular variation of Jordan Brand’s first Air Jordan model has now been chosen for their latest collaboration with Public School New York.
The collaboration between Jordan Brand and Public School New York from 2015 comprised of the Air Jordan 12 Retro and the Jordan Horizon. Initially, it was believed that the VAC Tech from Nike had been utilized for the construction of the Air Jordan 12 iteration. However, it turned out that the Tonal Grey uppers of the sneaker were made up of deluxe, smooth premium nubuck. On the other hand, the Jordan Future sported a knitted construction and was equipped with outsoles borrowed from the Air Jordan 13. The Air Jordan 12 had retailed for $300 and the Jordan Horizan had retailed for $225.
The Air Jordan 1 Low No Swoosh that Jordan Brand and Public School New York have collective worked on as a team predominantly features ominous all-Black uppers that appear to be made up of tumbled leather. The secondary hue that can be spotted over this sneaker is Gold/Yellow, which can be spotted over the Nike Air branding visible on the tongues and its sole units. While the all-Black laces blend in with the tonal uppers of this sneaker, they are also equipped with Gold-colored tips.
The photo of the PSNY x Air Jordan 1 Low No Swoosh that can be seen here was actually shared on Instagram by Frank Cooker (@frankcooker), who happens to be a Jordan Brand employee. It means that this sneaker may not be among 2016’s general Air Jordan releases, but could rather turn out to be a friends and family exclusive.
