A few weeks ago, Chris Paul was in Africa as a part of the Basketball Without Borders initiative by the NBA, where he laced up in several different kicks, including the Air Jordan 6 Low Metallic Silver that got its Jordan release date only recently. Although unexpected, Chris Paul did something he has been doing every summer since the past few years, i.e. he walked out wearing a pair of sneakers that appeared to be the debut colorway of the CP3.9.
The very first iteration of the latest installment in Chris Paul’s signature line has been dubbed “China.” A new set of detailed photos showcasing the upcoming Air Jordan CP3.9 have surfaced online and sneaker visible in these photos does not appear to be exactly alike the one Chris Paul had sported weeks ago. This means that Chris Paul had actually been wearing a PE version that may never hit the shelves, but the colorway seen here is equally dope and not too different.
In comparison to the Air Jordan CP3.8, the CP3.9 still sports a similar profile that sneakerheads are likely able to recognize, but it has also been visibly slimmed down. The only difference between this pair and the one spotted on Chris Paul’s feet is that the heel no longer features the safari print that covered it. Other than that, the upper of this low-top model is still dressed up predominantly in black. The underlay is covered in the same teal hue that is featured in the form of accents, such as the speckles on the midsole, as well as over the outsole and tongue. Instead of the safari print, the heel has been finished off with leather topped with a white Jordan Jumpan logo, while a white CP3 logo can be spotted on the tongue.
Nike still continues to remain silent about the arrival of the Air Jordan CP3.9. Therefore, it is not yet possible to inform readers whether a Jordan release 2015 or 2016 is planned for Chris Paul’s latest basketball shoe model, but it is being rumored that the sneaker may have made a stealthy retail debut in China.
