Earlier this year, this Air Jordan XX9 “Legend Blue” was nothing than a “PE” worn by Russel Westbrook. When rumors had been circulating that this sneaker would never hit the shelves, 23isBack readers would have probably assumed that they would never get the chance to cop this pair. On the contrary, this sneaker will actually have one of the upcoming 2014 Jordan release dates attached to it, which has actually been confirmed as well.
According to the earlier rumors, this “Legend Blue” colorway of the Air Jordan XX9 was also believed to be releasing as a part of the “Ultimate Gift of Flight” pack, along with the Air Jordan 11 “Pantone.” Considering that the Columbia retro had last hit the shelves more than a decade ago, it is understandable why it’s upcoming colorway has taken the sneaker world by storm. Perhaps this is why Jordan Brand decided to dress up their latest signature sneaker model in a “Legend Blue” colorway, which will now be making its retail debut on its own.
The white upper of this sneaker is clean and crisp, adorned only by the large Jumpan branding on the side, which is in Legend Blue. A white “Cement” print is present on the similarly white midsole, so it is barely visible, even upon closer inspection. Even the tongue of this sneaker is white, featuring an enormous “23,” also in Legend Blue. Surprisingly, the “Cement” print on the insole looks far more dramatic in Legend Blue once again, and the orange Jumpan on top of it makes it stand out even more.
Considering that these kicks had been unveiled not so long after Russell Westbrook has signed with Jordan Brand, it is understandable why this pair was the perfect PE for him. Fortunately for 23isBack readers, it is not just a PE anymore. Out of all the anticipated 2014 Jordan release dates, December 1 is the one that has been announced by Jordan Brand for the retail debut of this sneaker and it will sell for $225.
