Jordanheads are probably growing impatient in anticipation of the NBA All-Star Weekend because of all the sneaker releases that are slated to take place around the time of the festival. It is already known that the Midwinter Classic will mark the arrival of some of Jordan Brand’s and Nike’s instant hits, in particular Air Foamposite One “Northern Lights” and the Air Jordan 10 “OVO.” However, it turns that Jordan Brand is planning to drop another sneaker exclusively for small-footed Jordanheads, which will join the festival’s highlights. The sneaker is a GS “All-Star 2016” iteration of the Air Jordan 5 Low.
Apparently, 2016 is going to shape out to be the year in which Jordanheads can rejoice over the comeback of the Air Jordan 5 Low. This past weekend, Jordan Brand had dropped a Chinese New Year rendition of the Air Jordan 5 Low as a tribute to the “Year of the Monkey.” The Air Jordan 5 Low model is also a part of two of Jordan Brand’s “Legacy” collections, namely the “Alternate” and the “Dunk From Above” collections. However, unlike the renditions from these collections, the upcoming “All-Star 2016” colorway is a Grade School-exclusive, which might disappoint quite a few Jordanheads.
Despite being a version exclusively for young girls, this new Air Jordan 5 Low colorway is not exactly “girls.” Instead, its upper is dressed up in Grey and topped with a faith military-themed camo print that sports a metallic luster. The signature side panels of the sneaker are in a translucent hue, much like the White midsole that it is equipped with. Cement print makes an appearance over the signature shark teeth, while both Jumpman logos visible on the heel and the tongue are covered in Silver.
The official Jordan release 2016 of the sneaker is yet to take place, but it is apparently already up for grabs on eBay. For those who would rather wait, the Air Jordan 5 Low GS “All-Star 2016” will officially hit the shelves on February 13th.
