A few years ago, the Air Jordan 2 was one of Jordan Brand’s most favorite retro Jordans when it came to experimenting new designs and styles. This year, the Air Jordan 2 has not been making its way to retailers as frequently as it used to. However, the silhouette is amongst the upcoming Jordans 2016 in the form of the “Radio Raheem” iteration that will hit the shelves on one of next year’s Jordan release dates 2016. While it does not seem that one of the upcoming Jordan release dates 2015 could also mark the retail debut of a new Air Jordan 2 colorway, one never-before-seen pair could be up for grabs very soon.
As of lately, a trend seems to be developing in which sample editions of renowned Jordan sneakers that were never released before have been surfacing and eventually retailing. Apparently, there is one such sample of the Air Jordan 2 that remained unreleased till now but will be available very soon. Back in 2010, Jordan Brand had unveiled three new brightly colored Green, Red and Yellow renditions of the Air Jordan 2 with black accents and tonal uppers, which were collectively named the “Candy Pack.”
While the Candy Pack consisting of those three kicks eventually made it to retailers, apparently there was going to be a fourth pair that Jordan Brand did not mass produce and release as a part of this pack. It was this “Dark Concord” colorway of the Air Jordan 2 that has popped up all of sudden. The sneaker’s construction is a combination of leather and nubuck, dressed up almost entirely in the Dark Concord hue. Moreover, the sneaker sports Black accents throughout just like other pairs from the Candy Pack, while the finishing touch is added by the White outsole.
If Jordanheads feel that there is always a catch when rare sneakers like these suddenly make an appearance and are rumored to be up for grabs. Considering that it was never mass produced, the Air Jordan 2 “Dark Concord” is a one of one sample pair that is available on Index for a striking price of $2,300.
