No doubt, the Air Yeezy 1 and 2 were once one of Nike’s most popular signature models. However, it is unbelievable that even years after Kanye West pledged his loyalty to adidas, the Swoosh and even Jordan Brand continue to draw inspiration from Air Yeezy colorways. In fact, that is the reason this latest Air Jordan 1 High Nouveau looks so familiar. A “Snakeskin” rendition of the Air Jordan 1 High Nouveau with a cut out Nike Swoosh recently arrived at retailers. This upcoming rendition is inspired and named after a renowned Air Yeezy 2 colorway, the “Pure Platinum.”
Back in 2012, Nike were busy dropping one Air Yeezy release after another without any hurdles whatsoever. Kanye West was also at the peak of his career at the time. Little do sneakerheads know; the release of the Air Yeezy 2 “Pure Platinum” had been delayed multiple times. It was around that time that the most detailed photos of the sneaker had emerged, showcasing its wolf grey and pure platinum color scheme in its full glory. Fortunately, the sneaker did eventually end up hitting the shelves and retailing at a price of $250. Now years later, Jordan Brand have mimicked the color combination on this upcoming Air Jordan 1 High Nouveau.
Much like the Air Yeezy 2 colorway of the same name, this Air Jordan 1 High Nouveau iteration sports monochromatic uppers that is predominantly dressed up in pure platinum. The uppers are also covered in tonal reptilian textured overlays. It seems that the Jumpman are developing a trend with cut out Nike Swooshes because this one also features them, with tonal mesh construction visible through the Swoosh cutouts. Contrasting the tonal appearance of this sneaker, a crimson hue can be spotted over the inner linings, and the Jordan branding that is present on the ankles and the tongues. This sneaker is also equipped with clean white midsoles and rope laces.
Fans of the Air Yeezy 2 who do not actually own the “Pure Platinum” colorway of the model from years ago like want to get their hands on a pair of this upcoming sneaker. Unfortunately, Jordan Brand have not yet announced when the retail debut of this Air Jordan 1 High Nouveau “Pure Platinum” will take place.
