News and reports about the potential Jordan release 2016 of the Air Jordan 9 Low had been circulating ever since September 2015. In fact, it was being rumored that sneakerheads should expect Jordan Brand to drop not one but two iterations of the Air Jordan 9 Low this year. According to the rumors from back then, one was going to sport the classic “Bred” aesthetic with a combination of Black, Red and White, while the other would be similar to the Air Jordan 11 “Pantone.” While nothing much is known about the latter, photos of the Black, Red and White version surfaced not so long ago.
It was back in 2002 when the Air Jordan 9 Low silhouette was last seen, which means that it is actually making a comeback after 13 years. This potentially Chicago Bulls-inspired Air Jordan 9 Low resembles a Player Exclusive rendition of a Team Jumpman model that Jordan Brand had designed for Derek Anderson somewhere between the 90s and 2000s. While the January is coming to an end, it was back near the middle of this month when zsneakerheadz had shared an actual photo of the sneaker on his Instagram account. Ever since, more clear and detailed photos of the sneaker have also popped up, courtesy of marqueesole.
Much like the Derek Anderson PE, this Air Jordan 9 Low also sports an ominous Black textured upper, which even includes faux reptile skin-like overlays around the mudguard. The “Bred” aesthetic is a result of the Gym Red that makes an appearance in the form of accents, specifically on the branding like the “23” and the Jumpman. Adding a third and final hue to the mix, the midsole is in clean White.
While a Jordan release 2016 seems somewhat imminent for this Air Jordan 9 Low colorway, nothing much is known apart from a potential retail price of $170. However, it is being rumored that this sneaker could arrive at retailers at some point in April.
