Jordanheads are probably assuming that the only difference between the Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” and the Air Jordan 7 “Tinker Alternative” is that the latter features considerably more color blocking. While this is certainly true, these new photos that Instagram user @realchickenwop has posted not too long ago suggest that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the “Tinker Alternative.” However, it will not take too much of a keen eye to spot the fact that left and right shoe that makes up a pair is also different from one another.
By now, Jordanheads are likely well aware that this Air Jordan 7 “Tinker Alternative” somewhat resembles the model’s iconic “Olympic” rendition. Hence, its uppers are dressed up in a combination of multiple hues, namely deep royal blue, fire red, lite iron ore, metallic gold coin and white. When these hues collectively appear on this Air Jordan 7, it even seems like this sneaker might even be drawing its inspiration from the flag of the United States.
This Air Jordan 7 is equipped with predominantly clean white leather uppers, which also include deep royal blue colored underlays that are made up of suede. Further vibrancy has been added to this sneaker by the gold and red colored accents that can be spotted in the form of the Jordan branding, lace tips and sole units. This sneaker also comes with some distinct and unique features, such as the fact that each shoe is mismatched.
This means that the heel pull tabs, inner linings and tongue patterns of the left one are covered in red, while of the right one are covered in blue. The multi-colored uppers have even been paired with a tri-colored midsole that also featured speckles all over it. Finally, the heels actually sport the U.S. flag with the number 9 overlaying it as a nod to the 1984 Summer Olympics, during which Michael Jordan had worn a jersey with the name number on it.
Despite being an alternative version that Tinker Hatfield had designed, it is still obviously Olympic-themed, so it makes sense that its jordan release will take place around the same time as the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. Therefore, the highly-anticipated Air Jordan 7 “Tinker Alternative” is scheduled to retail at a price of $190 on August 16th.
