As mentioned in a recent post, it was revealed that Jordan Brand and Supreme, the renowned clothing brand and skateboarding shop, have collaborated with each other to release three special iterations of the Air Jordan 5. The “Desert Camo” colorway of the Supreme x Air Jordan 5 has already been unveiled and now photos of this nearly all-Black rendition have also surfaced. As sources have already claimed, all three colorways of the Supreme x Air Jordan 5, including this one, will likely make their retail debuts on one of the Fall 2015 Jordan releases.
Unlike the “Desert Camo” rendition of this silhouette, Jordan Brand and Supreme have taken a more straightforward and traditional approach with this colorway. As mentioned, this version is not entirely covered in black, rather red also makes an appearance in the color scheme, adding a Bred touch to it. It also seems as if this sneaker is taking inspiration from both the “Black/Metallic” and “Bulls” colorways of the Air Jordan 5, having borrowed elements and hues from their color palette.
Overall, this Supreme x Air Jordan 5 pair sports a nubuck upper dressed up almost entirely in black, with the exception of the contrasting vivid red that can be spotted covering the inner lining and “teeth” featured on the midsole. Moreover, the tongue is made up of 3M reflect material and the upper rests upon an icy blue translucent outsole So far, it probably sounds like this is just another Air Jordan 5 sneaker, but as a nod to Jordan Brand’s collaborator in this project, this colorway sports a few additional elements. Namely, the each side-panel features “SUP” and the heel has “94” embroidered on it instead of the usual “23.”
Thus, it should be obvious by now that this is no average Air Jordan 5 pair, and not one but three of such sneakers will be arriving at retailers on one of the Jordan release dates 2015 in the coming months. For Jordanheads who do not own the OG “Black/Metallic” or “Bulls” version, this would make a good addition to their collection.
