It was back near the end of February when rumors began circulating that one of Jordan Brand’s scheduled Holiday 2015 Jordan release dates would mark the return of the Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney.” This classic colorway of the Air Jordan 14 was last spotted on retail shelves way back in 1999 and sneakerheads who were not able to cop it back then have been waiting for it to make a comeback ever since.
A decent number of photos of the Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” have surfaced on the Internet over the past week, so Jordanheads can finally get a good idea of what this returning iteration will look like. The latest photos that have been leaked showcased the sneaker in different angles so that sneakerheads may get a better idea of these highly anticipated kicks. The photos actually make it obvious that the earlier rumors were true about the fact that the upcoming sneaker will be a “remastered” version.
Jordan Brand had released this colorway of their fourteenth signature silhouette back in 1999 as a tribute to Emsley A. Laney High School, which Michael Jordan attended between 1978 and 1980. In celebration of their 30th Anniversary, Jordan Brand is apparently bringing back the sneaker with its original materials.
Considering that it is an Air Jordan 14 pair, its aerodynamic and sleek profile makes it evident that it takes inspiration from the Ferrari 550M. The sneaker’s upper is a combination of Black and Varsity Royal Blue nubuck leather. While the Varsity Royal Blue defines the overall color palette, the addition of some Maize accents further affirms this colorway along with finishing touch of the Black and White sole unit.
While waiting 16 years for the Air Jordan 14 “Laney” to return must have been hard for Jordanheads, they will have to wait another three months before they can get their hands on it. The very first of the potential October Jordan release dates 2015, i.e. October 1st, has been confirmed for the arrival of this sneaker and it will be retailing for $170.
