The gradual arrival of summer is that the only reason that 2016 keeps on getting hotter and hotter, and those within the sneaker community can likely feel the heat. It was back in 2002 when the Air Jordan 17 had been introduced and the model has received the retro treatment just once. Back in 2008 when Jordan Brand had dropped the Countdown Pack Collezione #4, it had included both the Air Jordan 6 “Carmine” and the Air Jordan 17 “Black/Metallic Silver.” Jordanheads likely already know about the Air Jordan 17+’s return, but it turns out that the Jumpman have whipped up another colorway of the seventeenth Air Jordan model.
Right in the beginning of this month, it was somewhat confirmed that the Air Jordan 17+ OG “Copper” would be making a much-awaited come back in 2016 after thirteen years. A few days ago, Instagram user @zsneakerheadz posted the very first photo of the new Air Jordan 17+ colorway. As a result of the black and red color scheme that this sneaker features, it was dubbed and is now being referred to as both the “Bred” and the “Chicago Bulls” iterations. According to rumors, this rendition might be inspired by the 30,000th point that Michael Jordan scored on January 4th, 2002 against the Chicago Bulls, playing as a part of the Washington Wizards.
Much like the Air Jordan 17+ OG “Copper,” the nearly all-black uppers of this iteration appear to be shroud-less, as can be seen in the photos. The heels sport crock-skin detailing wrapped around them. Of course, this colorway gets its “Bred” or “Bulls” nickname from all the red-colored accents can be spotted throughout, while some white is also visible over the soles.
Rumored has it, Jordan Brand had initially been planning to bring back the Air Jordan 16, but their attention shifted towards the Air Jordan 17. No harm done, considering that not one but two Air Jordan 17+ renditions are on their way, including this “Bulls” inspired one, although no confirmed release details are available yet.
