The sneaker that is being referred to, which appeared to be the best amongst the others, was the never-before-released and never-before-seen Air Jordan 11 IE Low pair that Chris Paul was wearing during practice. Just recently, the IE version of the Air Jordan 11 Low arrived at retailers in a “Cobalt” colorway and the OG “Bred” colorway was rumored to be amongst the Air Jordan releases 2015, but apparently that is not the case.

As for the sneaker that was spotted on Chris Paul’s feet, it is the “Referee” iteration of the Air Jordan 11 IE Low that Jordan Brand and Nike never officially released. The nickname probably drops a hint, NBA referees wore this all-black sneaker during the 1995-96 NBA season. Jordan Brand designed this colorway in accordance with the uniform regulations of the NBA, which declared that black sneakers had to be worn by referees. Unlike the “Bred” colorway, this sockliner of this sneaker is also dressed up in black, with red accents only making an appearance on the outsole and tongue.
