It can definitely not be denied that the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” and the Air Jordan 12 “Wings” were the biggest releases of this weekend. However, it is also a fact that they were not the only sneakers that arrived at retailers this weekend. In particular, the Air Jordan 2 Low made quite a comeback sporting an all-red aesthetic. While those two Air Jordan 12 colorways were likely on the top of the list for many Jordanheads, it does not mean the Air Jordan 2 Low “Gym Red” was not worth copping. In fact, it actually resembles another iconic Air Jordan 2.
When they look at the Air Jordan 2 Low “Gym Red,” it likely reminds them of the Air Jordan 2 “Legends of the Summer” since their vivid red uppers seem to be almost alike. The Air Jordan 2 “Legends of the Summer” was an exclusive that had been worn by Justin Timberlake back in 2013 during a concert tour that also featured Jay Z. The Jumpman had whipped up the “Legends of the Summer” iteration exclusively for Justin, who had surprisingly turned out to be a sneakerhead. Eventually, Jordan Brand associates also ended up receiving a pair, but the sneaker never hit the shelves.
The Air Jordan 2 Low “Gym Red” seems like a decent alternative, which makes it even more worth copping. The uppers of this Air Jordan 2 Low rendition appear to be made up of leather that features a reptilian texture. However, the thing that really makes this sneaker really eye catching is the vivid gym red hue that it seems to be entirely dipped into. The tongues also sport the Jordan Wings logo, while the only other hue that appears on this sneaker is turquoise, which is only visible upon taking a look at the insoles.
By now it is obvious that this sneaker is already up for grabs. It made its retail debut along with the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” and “Wings” on April 2nd and should still be available at a price of $160.
