The Air Jordan releases 2016 are going to include a sneaker that is currently being referred to as the greatest one in history. That sneaker is highly coveted and iconic “White/Cement” colorway of the Air Jordan 4 Retro 89that is making a comeback in its OG form after a total of 16 years. One of the February Jordan release dates 2016 has even been confirmed for the return of the Air Jordan 4 Retro 89 “White Cement.”
It is obviously not a coincidence that the 2016 NBA All-Star Weekend also falls in February; rather Jordan Brand likely chose to drop the Air Jordan 4 Retro around that time next year. The classic White/Cement colorway might end up turning out to be one of the highlights of the Weekend, especially since it originally made its retail debut back in 1999. Since it was the Air Jordan 4’s 23rd Anniversary, Jordan Brand retroed and re-released this Retro 89 “White Cement” rendition, but instead of the OG Nike Air branding, it featured the Jordan Jumpman logo.
Air Jordan sneakers sporting OG branding are regarded as somewhat of a rarity by the sneakerheads of today. Not so long ago, Jordan Brand even dropped limited numbers of the Air Jordan 3 Retro 88, complete with OG branding. While the photo of next year’s Air Jordan 4 Retro 89 “White Cement” is a GS-sized pair, it does make it obvious the sneaker will indeed come with OG Nike Air logo on the heel, which makes it quite special.
It can also be seen in the photo that since it mimics the original pairs from 1999, the colorway is a combination of Black, Cement and White, complete with speckles. It is being speculated that the retail price of the Air Jordan 4 Retro 89 “White Cement” could possibly be somewhere between $220 and $250. Sneakerheads would definitely not want to miss copping this sneaker, so they better circle February 13th amongst the other confirmed Jordan release dates 2016 on their calendars.
