Quai 54 is an annual streetball tournament that takes place in Paris, France. In celebration of the occasion this year, Jordan Brand and Nike have teamed up once again to whip up a special collection of sneakers, and it was revealed that the classic Air Jordan 2 would be highlighting the collection. Along with the Air Jordan 2, it was revealed that the collection would also include the anticipated Air Jordan 30 “Cosmos,” a new Jordan Reveal iteration, a Nike Flyknit Air Force 1 and an exclusive Kobe 11. Although all these sneakers were believed to be Euro exclusives, the Air Jordan 30 “Commos” is apparently an exception.
2016 marks the thirteenth annual time that the Quai 54 Parisian streetball world championship is being held and it is still as strong as it could ever be. In fact, it is the largest outdoor basketball event in the world. Back when details of this collection had first surfaced, it had been stated that all of these sneakers would potentially arrive at retailers somewhere in the middle of or later in July. However, whether at the same or different dates had not been specified. While this much is proving true for the Air Jordan 30 “Comos,” it is fortunately not a Europe-exclusive.
There are plenty of sneakers who had actually been eagerly waiting for the stateside retail debut of the Air Jordan 30 “Cosmos” and it seems that it might actually be happening. In fact, they will not have to wait too long since the kicks are scheduled to be up for grabs this coming weekend. By now, Jordanheads likely already know that this sneaker gets its “Cosmos” nickname from the interstellar, universe-like graphic that covers its uppers, which also feature contrasting Pearlescent and White accents. As per the earlier details, the Air Jordan 30 “Cosmos” was to be among mid-July 2016’s Air Jordan releases and collectors will indeed be able to cop it for $200 on July 9th.
