A few months ago, Rip Hamilton retired from the National Basketball Association, but he continues to remain connected to the sneaker game. If sneakerheads recall, when Rip Hamilton announced that he was retiring, he had a Just Don x Air Jordan 2 pair was draped around his neck. In recent times, Rip Hamilton has been busy unveiling upcoming sneakers like the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle “Croc” and the Air Jordan 6 Low “Ghost Green,” which is arriving on one of the September Jordan release dates 2015. Apparently, the Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” is the next sneaker is line that Rip has previewed.
A fun fact that is worth mentioning here is that the first pair of sneakers that Dez Bryant owned was an Air Jordan. Many sneakerheads would probably guess that the pair was an Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 4 or an Air Jordan 11 perhaps. However, the upcoming Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” was the first ever Air Jordan sneaker that Dez Bryant purchased. In fact, he even posted a on-foot photo of the sneaker that he copped in 1999, when the “Laney” colorway of the Air Jordan 14 had made its retail debut. However, the photos appears to have been taken quite recently, which means he already owned the returning retro even though it is yet to arrive at retailers.
As can be seen in the photo of the Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” Rip Hamilton posted on his Instagram account, the suede upper of the sneaker is primarily dressed up black and blue. Another interesting fact is that Michael Jordan studied at the Laney High School during and taking inspiration from his Alma matter, hints of yellow can also be spotted on the sneaker. Judging from the quality of pair seen in Rip Hamilton’s photo, this could be another remastered retro.
If the Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” that is making a comeback this year is indeed a remastered retro, this makes it even more worth copping, especially by sneakerheads who did not manage to grab it in 1999. October 3rd has even been handpicked, out of the upcoming October 2015 Jordan release dates, for the impending return of this highly-anticipated sneaker.
