Images of 2014’s latest colorway of the Air Jordan 13 had begun circulating within the sneaker community back near the end of August. The images made it apparent enough that the Air Jordan was once again received the “Bred” treatment from Jordan Brand. The Air Jordan 13 “Bred” had been retroed back in 2013 and hit the shelves on January 12 of that year, but it is likely that many Jordan heads, including 23 is Back readers, were not able to cop a pair. Well, they still have a chance to get their hands on this upcoming “Black/Red” colorway because of one of the many anticipated 2014 Jordan releases is just around the corner.
When images of the Air Jordan 13 “Black/Red” surfaced on the Internet, many sneaker heads were quick to notice that it resembled a sample sneaker from Jordan Brand that had appeared years ago. Of course, this colorway is definitely not a sample since it is all set to make its retail debut. In fact, this October it had been revealed that this colorway of the Air Jordan 13 had been dubbed as “Infrared.”
The Black and Infrared combination has been one of Jordan Brand’s most popular color schemes in 2014. The “Black/Infrared” was introduced back in 1991 as a colorway of the Jordan 6. This year, the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 13 “Reflective” had also been dressed up in this color scheme. Above all, Black Friday 2014 had marked the retail debut of the retro release of the Air Jordan 6 “Infrared.”
Since the upper of this Air Jordan 13 pair is made of premium tumbled leather, it somewhat tends to subdue the sinister black hue, which is also seen on the suede mudguard.
