This weekend will be marking the official retail debut of this year’s remastered iteration of the Air Jordan 10Double Nickel,” but another original Air Jordan sneaker will also be making its way to retailers as well. There are plenty of Jordanheads who are admirers of Air Jordan 1 colorways, such as the “Bred” and “Neutral Grey,” and they will likely feel gleeful about this upcoming retro new jordans. The returning OG is actually the Air Jordan 1 Low Retro Low “Varsity Red” that is going to hit the shelves on one this weekend’s Jordan release dates 2015.

air-jordan-1-low-og-varsity-red-02Since mid February, several new colorways of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG have arrived at stores, which is proof that Jordan Brand seems to prefer it more over the high-top form of the silhouette. The original “Varsity Red” colorway of this model made its retail debut back in 1985. Although the upcoming pair is technically a retro OG, a minute difference prevents this year’s rendition from being an accurate and exact replica of the original. Then again, when the “Neutral Grey” colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Low returned as a retro, it also featured a more muted grey hue than its OG counterpart from the past.

This colorway gets its nickname from the Varsity Red hue that makes an appearance on the branding, such as the Nike Air on the tongue and the Nike Swoosh, as well as on the heel collar (which also featured a white Jordan “Wings” logo), inner lining, and outsole. The thing that distinguishes the OG and this year’s version is the fact that the Nike Swoosh does not feature metallic sheen.

In fact, anyone who is not a true Jordanhead can barely make out the change. All in all, the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low Retro Low “Varsity Red” is definitely worth copping, just like it was back in 1985, and March 28th is one of the Jordan release dates 2015 when it hits the shelves.
