All thanks to Air Jordan Pantone “For The Love of the Game” Collection from 2010, Jordanheads got to see a combination of a monochromatic Carolina Blue color scheme and laser etched detailing on Air Jordan sneakers. That was followed by the Air Jordan “Gift of Flight” Pantone Pack from 2014, which included a predominantly Carolina Blue-colored Air Jordan 11 and an Air Jordan 29 colorway that featured Carolina Blue accents. This time around, the latest Pantone-themed sneaker from Jordan Brand that is scheduled to be among the June Air Jordan releases 2016 is the Air Jordan 9 Low “Pantone.” Considering that there are plenty of summer months ahead, the low-top Air Jordan 9 will certainly prove to be a sneaker worth wearing.
Love has always been the particular driving force behind everything that Michael Jordan has achieved, specifically the love for the sport of basketball. In fact, Michael Jordan has also always loved challenges and thriving for success, and after winning six NBA championships over the course of his illustrious career, he raised the bar very high for his contemporaries. Very few NBA athletes have managed to touch the standard of excellence that the G.O.A.T. established. Before the Air Jordan Pantone “For The Love of The Game” Collection, Jordan Brand had also showcased a similar Air Jordan “University Blue Collection,” which had also featured laser etched detailing.
The “For The Love of The Game” also became known as the Air Jordan “Pantone 284 Laser” Collection, nicknamed after the hue that appeared on the sneakers. Thus, the Pantone hue literally reflects and is a symbol of the love that Michael Jordan has always had for the game or the sport of basketball. As for the “Pantone 284 Laser” Collection, it included all of the Air Jordan models that Jordan Brand had introduced by 2010, from the very first Air Jordan 1 High all the way to the Air Jordan 25, which was the latest at that time.
Hence, the upcoming Air Jordan 9 Low can be regarded as continuing Jordan Brand’s Pantone tradition and trend. The full leather uppers of the sneaker are dressed up entirely in University Blue, while similarly colored textured leather overlays can be spotted over the heels and the mudguards. The midsoles, outsoles and the 23 that is featured on the heels are all covered in White, adding a contrasting touch to the sneaker, while further contrast is added by the Black-colored heel Jumpman logos and inner linings. Jordan Brand has already announced and confirmed that the Air Jordan 9 “Pantone” will be retailing at a price of $170 on June 11th.
