The Los Angeles Clippers had quite a blazing start for 2016-17 NBA season. By defeating the Portland Trail Blazers, then the San Antonio Spurs and eventually the Toronto Raptors, not only did the Clippers set a new franchise record, they even set the best 14-2 record in the history of the NBA. Despite that, one of the Clipper’s star player has not been himself lately. The power forward of the Clippers missed a game this past Saturday due to suffering from a sore right knee. Fortunately, he will apparently be participating in the 2017 NBA Plays and will be rocking a special pair of Air Jordan sneakers.
According to Clippers officials, point and shooting guard Austin Rivers suffered a mild concussion during this past Saturday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans that took place at Staples Center. As of now, Austin is in the league’s concussion protocol since his condition has apparently not improved ever since he suffered the injury. Raymond Felton, another Clippers point and shooting guard, has also been absent from the past two games since he was attending the funeral of his grandmother. However, Raymond returned and was a part of the game against the Pelicans. Nonetheless, the Clippers now need their star players, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, more than ever.
Currently, Blake Griffin’s latest signature model of sorts with Jordan Brand is the lightweight Jordan Super.Fly 5, which is equipped with Zoom Air cushioning units. This year’s Playoff iteration of the Jordan Super.Fly 5 that Blake will be rocking next year has been appropriately dubbed “PO.” Its uppers appear to have been revamped, with its midfoot straps seemingly drawing inspiration from the Jordan “Wings” branding. It also seems to be equipped with extra ankle support, its mudguards are covered in the elephant print, and from the looks of it, it has apparently been designed to be more lightweight.
Some may not consider the Super.Fly models as Blake Griffin’s signature sneakers, but there is probably no better representative for them than him. The Jordan Super.Fly 5 “PO” may or may not join the Air Jordan releases 2017, although the latter is likely true.
