In case sneakerheads are not aware, House of Hoops is the joint concept retail venture that Foot Locker and Nike collaboratively launched in Harlem, New York back in November 2017. As of now, the concept store has locations spread throughout New York City, the rest of the nation and even in Europe. House of Hoops has become known for releasing limited and Player Edition colorways, and more. Back in 2015, the largest House of Hoops installation was opened at 2 Penn Plaza, outside Madison Square Garden. Borrowing the retail venture’s name, Jordan Brand has collaborated with Steve Wiebe on a Jordan House of Hoops Collection.
For sneakerheads who do not know, Steve Wiebe is a Canadian tattoo artist who has tattooed some of the most famous NBA players, such as DeAndre Jordan and Kevin Durant. Steve Wiebe currently does all of his inking at the Golden Republic Tattoo, which is located in an office building, a one hour drive from Vancouver. His client list also includes celebrities, such as the rapper Future. DeAndre Jordan, of the Los Angeles Clippers, has actually described Steve as “the best” tattoo artist. Judging from what Kevin Durant has said about him, Steve pays a great deal of attention to “every fine detail” when tattooing a client.
The Steve Wiebe x Jordan House of Hoops Collection includes three of Jordan Brand’s well-known sneaker model, namely the Air Jordan 10, Jordan Super.Fly 2017 and the Jordan Generation. The color scheme of these sneakers appears to be inspired by the Chicago Bulls, with the Air Jordan 10 dressed up predominantly in Red with Black-colored accents, while the other two have Black- and Grey-colored uppers with Red-colored detailing. Of course, the highlight of these sneakers is the tattooed artwork done by Steve Wiebe that they feature, such as over their insoles, uppers and underneath their soles. This collection will also include a unique card with tattooed artwork of Michael Jordan.
The Steve Wiebe x Jordan House of Hoops Collection is expected to join December’s Air Jordan releases 2017 that are scheduled to arrive later this month. Sneakerheads should be prepared to pay a visit to House of Hoops in Harlem because this collection will be exclusively hitting the shelves there.
