Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder had quite an unfortunate and unsatisfactory Game 1 after being defeated by the Houston Rockets. Even though the Thunder did not succeed in being victorious against the Houston Rockets in Game 2, Russell Westbrook made quite an impressive comeback and put on a spectacular show. In fact, Russell Westbrook seemed equally erratic and splendid throughout the game in what was perhaps his most memorable performance. Currently, Russel has quite a historic statistics line and everything he did in this second game against the Rockets, he did while laced up in an eye-catching yet never-before-seen Air Jordan 31 PE.
Even though the Oklahoma City Thunder lost, Russell Westbrook ended up becoming the first NBA athlete to record a 50-point triple-double in the history of the Playoffs. While proudly the tri-colored Air Jordan 31 seen in the photo above, Russell had scored 51 points by the end of the game, which included 13 assists and 10 rebounds. Unfortunately, all of this happened prior to halftime and in the fourth quarter, things went downhill for both Russell and his team.Understandably, Russell was quite upset by his team’s loss, so much so that he was not too interested in commenting on his 50-point triple-double.
At the very least, Russell Westbrook can feel glad about the fact that Jordan Brand has been hooking him up with some very dope kicks as of lately. Last month, he received two colorways of a model that Jordan Brand created exclusively for him, the Air Jordan 30.5, since he seems to prefer the construction of the AIr Jordan 29 and 30. Inspired by Russell’s Air Jordan 30.5, Jordan Brand has even decided to drop an Air Jordan 31 “Why Not” Russell Westbrook PE iteration that borrows the 30.5 tooling and features the elephant print. His recently seen Air Jordan 31 pair was dressed up in OKC Thunder’s Dark Blue, Sunset and Thunder Blue.
It is uncertain whether the Air Jordan 31 pair, which Russell Westbrook was wearing when he scored NBA’s first 50-point triple-double, will end up hitting the shelves. However, sneakerheads can grab a pair of the Air Jordan 31 “Why Not” Russell Westbrook PE at a price of $200 once it arrives at retailers on April 29th, 2017.
