During his off-seasons, Russell Westbrook is usually either training on his own or with his teammates. However, this week was relatively different for him. Earlier this week, Russell continued the summer tradition by organizing workouts in Los Angeles with a majority of his fellow teammates from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Derrick Rose and LeBron James were among those who joined him for the workouts. Russell is apparently also planning to take part in the Drew League, which is among summer’s most competitive street ball leagues. It also seems that Russell Westbrook is involved in the design process of the Air Jordan 32, which is currently underway.
The Air Jordan 31, which was the latest installment in the Air Jordan line at the time, was officially unveiled on July 20th at a special event that started in Las Vegas at 6:00 PM PST. Drawing inspiration from Jordan Brand’s iconic first signature sneaker, the Air Jordan 31 was designed to feature the right amount of balance between modern performance and vintage style. Coincidentally, the Air Jordan 31 made its retail debut in a “Banned” colorway, which was also inspired by the original colorway of the Air Jordan 1 that the NBA banned Michael Jordan from wearing back in 1985.
Recently, Russell Westbrook shared some “BROODIE CAM,” “”BEHIND THE SCENE” videos via his official Snapchat (@russwest44). Russell’s videos do not explicitly reveal anything about the newest Air Jordan silhouette. However, the fact that “XXXII” appeared to be a part of the filter that he used makes it obvious that he was definitely hinting at the Air Jordan 31 the behind-the-scenes footage. Of course, there is also the poster featured above, which reads “AIR JORDAN XXXII COMING SOON.” Furthermore, much like the Air Jordan 31 drew inspiration from the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 32 is reportedly inspired by the Air Jordan 2.
As sneakerheads might recall, the Air Jordan 31 “Banned” made its retail debut on September 3rd, 2016, so the Air Jordan 32 might actually end up debuting among September’s Jordan releases 2017. It is even being reported that the Air Jordan 32 might end up debuting alongside the Air Jordan 1 Flyknit.
