Nike officially designed the on-court uniforms for the 2017–18 NBA season, but it seems that the partnership between the sportswear brand and the league is not limited to that. Apart from hoodies, sneakers and socks, Nike is also set to release a variety of brand new official t-shirts this Friday. Russell Westbrook is among the select NBA players, such as Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Stephen Curry and others, all of whom will be featured on a t-shirt of their own. In addition to this, Russell Westbrook was also present during NBA Media Day 2017 and he was laced up in a never-before-seen Air Jordan 32 colorway.
The NBA celebrated media day on September 28th, 2017. Russell Westbrook spoke about his possible extension. He mentioned how long summer has been, considering that he spent it being a dad. He went on to state that the Oklahoma City Thunder was where he wants to be. As of now, it also seems that Russell Westbrook is the cream of the crop in the 2017-2018 class of fantasy basketball players. Last year, on the 2016-17 Player Rater, Russell Westbrook was at number two, after James Harden. This year though, it does not seem like James will end up matching Russell when it comes to assists and rebounds.
Of course, nothing will change the fact that Russell Westbrook is currently somewhat the poster boy of Jordan Brand and the leading face to represent the Air Jordan 32. Hence, it was not surprising that he was rocking this brand new Air Jordan 32 iteration on NBA Media Day 2017. This colorway, dubbed “Creamsicle,” features Red-colored Flyknit uppers that resemble those of the latest model’s recent “Rosso Corsa” colorway. However, the presence of Royal Blue-colored detail throughout, such as over the Jordan branding and its ribbed heels, sets it apart.
It is unlikely that this new colorway will be joining upcoming Jordan releases 2017 or even next year’s Air Jordan releases 2018. Of course, sneakerheads are probably not complaining since many of them likely copped a pair of the Air Jordan 32 “Rosso Corsa” that recently made its retail debut on September 23rd, 2017.
