The article that had been posted here on 23isBack about this luxurious-looking Air Jordan 23 had probably made Jordan heads curious about what inspired Jordan Brand to whip up this new jordans. Images of this never-before-seen quilted design had surfaced on the Internet back in November. Some sneaker heads may have even assumed that Jordan Brand merely borrowed the quilted detailing from the Jordan Shine, but that is not the case. This pair could actually be a result of collaboration between Jordan Brand and Just Don, and even though potential Jordan releases continue to be anticipated, there is no official news yet.
Don C collaborated with Jordan Brand back in 2013 too, which resulted in the release of the “Just Jordan BHM” colorway of the Air Jordan 1 that caused a lot of hype. So, Don C had decided to get creative once again in collaboration with Jordan Brand and he apparently drew inspiration from Jordan Brand’s venture into the luxury sneaker market because this Air Jordan 2 certainly bears quite the luxurious aesthetic.
Despite the fact that not much detail is available about this sneaker, new images of these kicks that have once again been leaked on the web make it quite evident that Don C is behind this pair’s design. The leather tongue of this sneaker features Just Don branding behind and so do the insoles, which are also blue and quilted like the rest of the upper. Even though it is without out a doubt quite a monochromatic pair, the fact that it has been designed by Don C makes it worth copping.
Jordan Brand continues to release classic Air Jordan silhouettes in classic colorways as their 30th anniversary nears, and this pair is no exception. In fact, it has probably caused quite a stir amongst Jordan heads, including 23isBack readers. Unfortunately, they will have to keep their eyes peeled for upcoming 2014 or 2015 Jordan release dates, since none has been confirmed yet for these quilted kicks.
