Currently, Jordan Brand is the sponsor of two college football teams, namely the Michigan Wolverines and the North Carolina Tar Heels. This fall, another team that joined this list was the Florida Gators. However, back in November 2017, the University of Oklahoma Sooners announced that they would be switching over to the Jordan Brand, which has finally seemed to have happened. The new Oklahoma Sooners gear featuring “Jumpman” branding can be viewed and purchased at OUJordan.com. As was the case when the Florida Gators recently unveiled their new uniforms, Jordan Brand has welcomed the Oklahoma Sooners to the family with an entire Air Jordan PE collection.
Jordan Brand & The Oklahoma Sooners
On July 9th, 2018, a tweet stating “Same tradition, the next evolution” was posted on the official Oklahoma Football twitter profile (@OU_Football). The fact that Jordan Brand has been sponsoring college football teams is a testament to the fact that the brand no longer exclusively revolves around basketball. Like those of the Florida Gators, the new uniforms of the Oklahoma Sooners actually look exactly the same, with one major exception. Instead of the Nike “Swoosh” branding, a little Jordan “Jumpman” logo can now be spotted on the left side of the jersey’s chest and another one can be spotted on the front, left side of the shorts too.
The Air Jordan “Oklahoma Sooners” PE Collection
The photos you see here were shared on Instagram by sports writer Cliff Brunt (@cliffbruntap) and the Oklahoma Sooners profile (@OU_Athletics). These photos were apparently taken at the team’s football facilities. As you can see, every iconic model from the Air Jordan 1 to the Air Jordan 30 is lined up on a wall, all dressed up in the team’s Cream and Crimson color scheme. It is uncertain this PE collection includes a colorway of every model up to the Air Jordan 32. Additionally though, Jordan Brand also whipped up rather luxurious looking, custom Air Jordan 11 cleats for the members of the Oklahoma Sooners roster.
