It seems that the Air Jordan 1 will once again sport the Laser engraving since Jordan Brand is all set to release this “Quai 54” iteration exclusively in Paris for the upcoming streetball tournament. Apparently, Paris is currently the place where avid sneakerheads would want to be, considering that the Air Jordan “MTM” Pack was officially unveiled there, and just recently Jordan Brand opened their Palais 23 exhibit. Although one of the upcoming Jordan release dates 2015 will indeed be marking the retail debut of this lasered Air Jordan 1 “Quai 54,” the sneaker will be up for grabs in limited numbers.
This weekend, Paris will become home to several Jordan Brand-related events, especially the 12th annual Quai 54 tournament that takes places on June 13th and 14th and is sponsored by them. The “MTM” Pack was also officially unveiled not so long ago and will be hitting the shelves later this month, and the Palais 23 Experience has also just been launched by Jordan Brand. Michael Jordan actually has a longstanding relationship with the city that goes way back to 1985 when he visited Paris around the same time the Air Jordan 1 model was released. In 1997, MJ even won a pre-season tournament there. Apparently, Jordan Brand is showing their appreciation for the city by granting a limited number of Parisians the opportunity to grab an Air Jordan 1 rendition that may never arrive at retailers again.
This “Quai 54” colorway of the Air Jordan 1 is a mid top pair that is dressed up entirely in Black. It almost appears as if the all-Black base of this sneaker is serving as a canvas for the laser engraved details, which include symbols related to Paris itself, such as the Eiffel Tower. The intriguing print that is visible on the side panels also resembles Americana flash tattoo art. As stunning as the Air Jordan 1 “Quai 54” looks, only 23 pairs of the sneaker will hit the shelves on one of the upcoming Jordan release dates 2015.
