Next year, it will be the 30th anniversary of Jordan Brand, which means that the very first Air Jordan I sneaker had been introduced 30 years ago. It has already been confirmed by Jordan Brand that they will be releasing an Air Jordan 1 High “Laser” in celebration of the sneaker model’s 30th anniversary. However, apparently future Jordan release dates 2015 will also mark the comeback of “straps” as well.
The gradually increasing and impressive lineup of Air Jordan retros, which are set to make their return in 2015, will also include the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Strap. This Velcro-strapped iteration of the Air Jordan 1, which is making its comeback next year, brings with it the Vandal-inspired, delightful and stunning style.
As usual, the entire upper of this sneaker boasts leather overlays, but the base also features nylon as well, as a result of which an extraordinary “vintage” look is achieved. As the name suggests, the entire high top upper of this sneaker is wrapped up by a canvas strap, which superbly completes this classic look.
For now, two colorways of these upcoming new jordans have already been unveiled, which can be seen here. One pair of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Strap will apparently come in a legend and navy blue combination while the classic “Bred” color combination will be featured by the other pair. The base of these sneakers is in navy blue and black respectively, while the leather overlays are in legend blue and red respectively.
In terms of branding, apart from the Jordan Jumpman on the heels and the Nike Swoosh, the Air Jordan Wings logo is present on both the straps and the sneaker itself. Finally, the finishing touch has been added by Jordan Brand in the form of “30” logo on the insole, a nod to the brand’s and the silhouette’s 30th anniversary. Multiple future Jordan Brand release dates 2015 are likely, although they have not been confirmed yet.
