As of lately, Jordan Brand seems to have been repeating color schemes on several different Air Jordan models, the Air Jordan 31 Low being the most noteworthy of them all. So far, it does not seem that sneakerheads have been complaining about this trend. For instance, “Pure Platinum” colorways of the Air Jordan 5 and the Air Jordan 13 Low were unveiled quite recently, and on May 5th, Jordan Brand ended up dropping an Air Jordan 31 Low “Pure Platinum.” This time, it seems Jordan Brand borrowed the color scheme of the Air Jordan 11 “Midnight Navy” and whipped up a similar colorway of the Air Jordan 31 Low.
Another colorway that got repeated on the Air Jordan 31 Low was the “UNC,” considering that the Air Jordan 11 Low “UNC” is also scheduled to make its return this very year. Sneakerheads got their first look at the Air Jordan 11 “Midnight Navy” on April 30th via a Photoshopped image shared on Instagram by @jayzrdead. Earlier in May, @zsneakerheadz finally leaked an actual photo of the sneaker on Instagram. The sneaker is dressed up in a combination of Midnight Navy and White, while University Blue can be spotted over the branding. This sneaker is set to join upcoming Jordan releases 2017 on November 24th.
The color palette that this latest Air Jordan 31 Low iteration appears to be dressed up in can somewhat be regarded as UNC-themed. Perhaps it is actually drawing inspiration from the University of North Carolina, Michael Jordan’s alma mater, even though Jordan Brand has already dropped an Air Jordan 31 Low “UNC.” This rendition The Flyweave uppers of this rendition, much like the Air Jordan 11 “Midnight Navy,” are dressed up in a balanced combination of Midnight Navy and White. University Blue also appears over the branding and the heels, while this sneaker is equipped with plain White-colored midsoles and icy, translucent outsoles too.
Fortunately, sneakerheads will not have to wait till November to cop a pair of this sneaker as it will be joining this month’s Air Jordan releases 2017. This Air Jordan 31 Low “Midnight Navy” is scheduled to retail for $160 on May 26th, both online and at select Jordan Brand stores.
