Jordan Brand has played a major role in the evolution of basketball sneakers, going above and beyond in terms of design, technology, style and versatility. To some extent, all of this was made possible because of the innovative constructions and materials they have utilized over the years. Faux snakeskin-textured leather is one such material that they have used a couple of times in the past, such as on the Air Jordan 4 PRM “Snakeskin” that retailed at a whopping price of $400 back in May 2016. While this exotic material has not been featured in a while, it seems an Air Jordan 1 “Snakeskin” has popped up.
This is actually not the first time that Jordan Brand has utilized the faux snakeskin-textured material for the Air Jordan 1 or at least a variation of it. Prior to the Air Jordan 4 PRM “Snakeskin,” Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 1 High Nouveau “Snakeskin” back in March 2016 and it retailed at a price of $150. Its seemingly exotic, nearly all-Black uppers were made up of leather, which had been embossed to mimic the texture of snakeskin. Adding to its premium aesthetic and giving it a “Bred” color scheme, it also featured Gym Red-colored detailing and was equipped with plain White midsoles too.
The seemingly luxurious Air Jordan 1 featured here looks like it belongs in Jordan Brand’s “Pinnacle” series. The color scheme it sports resembles that of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Shadow,” which recently made its comeback. Overall, it appears to have a sleek and smooth Black-colored leather base, while its ankle collar and heel overlays as well as the Nike “Swoosh” logo are made up of Grey-/Silver-colored textured snakeskin material. It is also equipped with clean White midsoles. It happens to be a women’s exclusive and will reportedly be among fall’s Air Jordan releases 2018. Keep checking back to stay updated about this Air Jordan 1 “Snakeskin.”
