This Air Jordan XIII “Barons” can be regarded as a successor of the Air Jordan IX “Barons.” However, 23isBack readers should know that unlike the Air Jordan IX, there is no link between the Air Jordan XIII and the time that Michael Jordan had embarked on a baseball career, playing for the Birmingham Barons. Nonetheless, that does not seem to stop this Air Jordan XIII pair, which has one of the upcoming Jordan release dates 2014 attached to it, from giving off Birmingham vibes.
In the past, Air Jordan retro silhouettes used to go on long hiatuses, but that does not seem to happening these days. Considering that the previous “He Got Game” colorway of the Air Jordan 13 had been released back in 2013, Jordan Brand did give this silhouette much of a break. A year later, another colorway of the retro silhouette is on its way this month. Not only has does this black/grey/white colorway been dubbed as the “Barons” but it can even be compared to the “Barons” colorway of the Air Jordan 9.
For 2014, this is second colorway to have popped for Michael Jordan’s thirteenth sneaker silhouette. As of now, it does not seem like Jordan Brand has plans to release any other additional pairs in order to expand this range. It is fortunate that during the previous retro run of the Air Jordan 13, a good number of the original colorways of this sneaker had been brought back, so those ones are likely to make a comeback any time soon.
Even though the Air Jordan 13 “Barons” sneaker does indeed deserve to be called that, the holographic, shiny portions of the sneaker do tend to steer away from the “Barons” palette. However, this probably not matter to 23isBack readers or any other Jordan Brand fans. So, October 25 is upcoming 2014 Jordan release dates that all Jordan heads should keep their eyes on if they want to cop this new jordans.
