Kawhi Leonard is currently one of the NBA’s best two-way players. He may not have that much touring experience, but he was still impressive during his recent goodwill tour of China, where he visited Beijing and Shanghai. In fact, Kwahi seemed quite comfortable and relaxed with the media, while responding quite thoughtfully, reflecting his true persona. Generally, Kawhi often appears uneasy during interviews, but this time he seemed to be enjoying it and was rather laid back. The photo accompanying this post was taken either before or after Kawhi’s recent goodwill tour. The first thing that sneakerheads may have probably noticed is the kicks that Kawhi is rocking.
During this recent goodwill tour, Kawhi talked about many different things, from becoming a father to doing community service to his future business plans and more. Compared to his behavior when being interviewed by the U.S. press, Kawhi was behaving absolutely different while answering the questions asked by the Chinese reporters. The photo seen above was actually posted on Instagram by DeSean Jackson, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ wide receiver, who can be seen in the photo. Apart from the kicks, Kawhi seems to be wearing clothing from his own signature line. Also in this photo are rappers Kendrick Lamar and YG.
In case sneakerheads have not figured it out already, the pair of sneakers that Kawhi Leonard is sporting in the above photo is an Air Jordan 5 iteration that has never been seen before. Throughout 2017, quite a few Air Jordan 5 colorways have been unveiled, but none of them compare to this particular iteration, which is now being referred to as “Metallic Gold.” From the looks of it, its uppers are made up of patent leather and dressed up entirely in Metallic Gold. The sneaker also appears to be equipped with clean White-colored midsoles and is apparently featuring Black-colored branding.
There has been no further news about this pair nor has Kawhi Leonard said something about his brand new kicks. Hence, there is no way of knowing if this Air Jordan 5 “Metallic Gold” might join Jordan releases 2017, although it could just be an exclusive.
