2016 will apparently prove to be a big year for the Air Jordan 12, considering that it is scheduled to mark the Jordan release 2016 of several coveted and iconic OG colorways of the model. Last year, one of Public School New York’s several collaborations with the Jumpman marked the retail debut of a monochrome Air Jordan 12 that featured a stone-like finish. It was quite a prized sneaker too, considering that it was available in limited quantities and at a whopping retail price of $300. Hence, Jordanheads should consider themselves fortunate the upcoming Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” will not have such a hefty price tag.
Along with the “Flu Game,” the “Cherry” and “French Blue” colorways of the Air Jordan 12 are also slated to hit the shelves later this year. Of course, the “Flu Game” is the most iconic of them all, considering that Michael Jordan wore the first, original pair during the fifth Chicago Bulls vs. Utah Jazz Game of the 1997 NBA Finals. Even though he apparently had the flu, the G.O.A.T. still participated in the game and managed to score 38 points. After originally dropping the sneaker 1997, Jordan Brand retro’d it twice, once in 2003 and then in 2009.
However, this year will be the first time that the re-released Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” will meet “OG” standards because it is going to be a remastered version. Thus, the sneaker will be made up of premium, smooth leather rather than nubuck, primarily dressed up in Black, while Varsity Red accents will be featured all over. Moreover, the sneaker will not sport any unnecessarily details on the heels like the previous retro’s.
All that remains now for Jordanbrands is to wait for its Jordan release 2016 to take place because all other details about the sneaker have already been revealed and plenty of photos are also available. May 28th has already been confirmed for its release and its retail price has also been confirmed to be $190.
