Ever since the NBA Finals ended earlier this year, it has been speculated that the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors will once again go head to head for the third time. Of course, viewers would have to sit through the 2016-2017 season and playoffs to find out who made it to the NBA Finals. Blake Griffin has been out of action throughout most of the regular season due to being injured, but it is being expected that he will make it to the 2017 NBA Playoffs, back to his elite form. However, Jordan Brand is already preparing for Blake’s return with a new Jordan Super.Fly 5 variation.
The Los Angeles Clippers are currently among the top candidates who could prevent either the Cavaliers or the Warriors from once again running for the NBA Championship. As of now, the Clippers have a much better roster than teams like the Houston Rockets. The Clippers have not exactly been up to the mark in the past, but this season could prove to be the moment when they will have their time. Moreover, the Clippers have plenty of shoulders to lean on and carry them through, especially if Blake Griffin ends up recovering and makes a successful comeback by the time the Playoffs begin.
Throughout the 2015–16 NBA season, Blake Griffin has mostly been laced up in the Jordan Super.Fly 5. The new PO variation of the Jordan Super.Fly 5 that Jordan Brand has designed is along the lines of their annual “Elite” iterations and the PO stands for Playoffs. This PO version is relatively different because of midfoot straps inspired by those of the Air Jordan 20 and its mudguards appear to be made up of patent leather. Its uppers are predominantly made up of mesh and dressed up in Black, while Metallic Gold appears over the lace eyelets and the large Jumpman featured over the cracked Elephant Print-covered straps. Embossed “Air Jordan” branding like that of the Air Jordan 7 can also be spotted over the tongues and it is also equipped with Zoom Air midsoles.
This Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO “Black/Metallic Gold” almost looks like an OVO rendition and it will likely be joining the Jordan releases 2017. Additionally, Jordan Brand will also be dropped a “White/Black” colorway of the Super.Fly 5 PO, which sports a cleaner look.
