As the present year nears its halfway mark, it is becoming apparent that Jordan Brand is busy planning some of the most exceptional Jordan releases 2015. More and more photos of both never-before-seen and returning Air Jordan iterations have been surfacing on the Internet in recent months. Not so long ago Jordan Brand even revealed that they were bringing the Jordan Son of Mars Low back too. Apparently, one of the colorways this hybrid silhouette will be arriving in is this “Black/Cement” rendition.
The “Black/Cement” has always been somewhat of a celebrated and famed colorway when it comes to Jordan Brand’s line of sneakers. The origin of this colorway can be traced back to the Air Jordan 3 silhouette, which is known for leading just about all of its sneaker designs to glory. The Air Jordan 3 “Black/Cement” made its retail debut back in 1988, and it is quite a coincidence that the Son of Mars silhouette itself is inspired by the Jordan 3. Thus, it is quite a privilege for the low cut version of this hybrid model to receive the “Black/Cement” treatment.
The leather upper of this Jordan Son of Mars pair is dressed up entirely in Black. The other half of the colorway comes in the form of the Cement/Elephant Print panels that can be spotted around the heel and toebox. Additional hues include the Grey that covers the tongue and the Red that can be seen on the lining and as speckles on the Black midsole that has a clear White outsole beneath it.
With the exception of the Black that appears on the midsole, this Son of Mars rendition almost looks like a replica of the Jordan 3 colorway of the same name. Considering that Jordan Brand discontinued the Jordan 3 last year, it is an excellent opportunity for Jordanheads to cop a “Black/Cement” colorway. Despite the lack of confirmation, rumor has it that one of the June Jordan release dates will mark the arrival of the Jordan Son of Mars “Black/Cement” at retailers.
