Jordan Brand’s New “Take Flight” Pack Is Inspired By Bomber Jackets & Fighter Planes

Throughout the 31 years of Jordan Brand’s long and rich history, the “Flight” theme has consistently recurred, surfacing every now and then. They even have a hybrid sneaker model by the name of the Air Jordan Flight Remix that features a combination of design elements borrowed from the Air Jordan 5, Air Jordan 15 and the Air Jordan 22. Jordan Brand has apparently decided to continue this ongoing theme with an entire pack of sneakers that has been dubbed the “Take Flight” Pack. No better models reflects the “Flight” theme than the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 15, which are included along with the Air Jordan 8.

air-jordan-take-flight-pack-2Since this is a “Flight” themed pack, it draws inspiration from bomber jackets and fighter planes. Despite the fact that the U.S. military always wanted its soldiers to be cohesive rather than have individuality, the personalization of WWII flight jackets was surprisingly not frowned upon. That is what this new “Take Flight” Pack is inspired from. The Air jordan 15 included in this pack is the OG “Stealth” colorway that drew its inspiration from a stealth fighter plane, so it definitely fits perfectly along with the rest of the sneakers. Also included are brand new colorways of the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 8.

Contrary to what was initially reported, this pack includes two Air Jordan 5 iterations, one of which inspired by the P51 flight bomber jacket. This one is dressed up in a combination of Black, Green and Sequoia with Vachetta Tan-colored accents throughout. The other is almost entirely plain off-White with Gold-colored detailing and aged-looking translucent outsoles. The Air Jordan 8 is also dressed up in Sequoia, but instead of Vachetta Tan, Safety Orange-colored accents appear over its outsoles and tongues while neoprene has also been incorporated into its uppers.
