Earlier this month, Nike unveiled the “Art Of A Champion” Collection that comprises of 16 different sneakers, including those from Converse and Jordan Brand. This collaborative collection was put together in order to commemorate some of the most timeless and unforgettable Playoff performances of the greatest NBA players. Specifically for this collection, Jordan Brand decided to bring back the Air Jordan 14 “Last Shot.” However, it seems that this will not be the only “Last Shot” colorway joining this year’s Air Jordan releases 2018. Paying homage to Michael Jordan’s “Last Shot” from 1998, Jordan Brand has whipped up two different colorways of two different models inspired by it.
Michael Jordan made his famous “Last Shot” during Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals on June 14th in Utah. 5.2 seconds remained for the game to conclude and the score was 87-86, with the Chicago Bulls having a one-point lead. The crowd went absolutely silent as Michael Jordan made a jump shot, 17 feet from the top of the key with Byron Russell trying to block him. Not only did Michael Jordan earn 45 points as a result and top his “Flu Game” performance, the Chicago Bulls ended up winning their 6th NBA Championship and their second three-peat. Arguably, that was Michael Jordan’s finest game-winning performance.
The first is the Air Jordan 32 Low “Last Shot,” which somewhat mimics the color scheme of the Air Jordan 14 that Michael Jordan was laced up in when he made that legendary shot. The other is the Air Jordan Flyknit Elevation 23 “Last Shot.” This model may look familiar since it borrows the soles of the Air Jordan 6 and even has a similar silhouette. Instead of being predominantly dressed up in Black though, this iteration is almost entirely covered in University Red, with some Black-colored detailing appearing on the midsoles. Additionally, its tongues feature Ferrari-inspired, Black- and Yellow-colored “Jumpman” medallion from the Air Jordan 14.
The Air Jordan 32 Low “Last Shot” is scheduled to make its retail debut on June 9th, 2018 at a price of $160. It is uncertain when exactly the Jordan Flyknit Elevation 23 “Last Shot” will end up joining this year’s Air Jordan releases 2018, but whenever it does, it is going to retail at a price of $170.
