It would not be too farfetched to regard the University of North Carolina Tar Heels as a Jordan Brand sponsored team. This Saturday, they were scheduled to face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but that game was rescheduled to take place on Sunday at Greensboro Coliseum Complex in Greensboro, North Carolina. Originally, ESPN was going to broadcast the game, but it seems that ESPN News ended up televising it. The Tar Heel Sports Network radio station also ended up broadcasting the game. While it was uncertain what kicks the Tar Heels would be laced up in, many were expecting they would end up rocking these new Air Jordan PEs.
Those who had already purchased tickets to attend the game on Saturday were able to enter the Greensboro Coliseum Complex and watch the game with the same tickets. This game was originally supposed to take place at the Dean E. Smith Student Activities Center. Those who had lower level tickets were given access to seats in the lower bowl, while those with upper level tickets received access to the upper level seats. Even those who had student tickets were able to attend the game. Considering that both the Tar Heels and the Fighting Irish are Top 25 teams, it was quite a game.
The latest Air Jordan PEs that the University of North Carolina Tar Heels have received include an Air Jordan 31 and a Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO. It should not come as a surprise that the two iterations are dressed up in the university’s official color scheme of Carolina Blue and White. The Air Jordan 31 is predominantly covered in Carolina Blue with gradient theme. The Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO is a predominantly clean White sneaker with Carolina Blue appearing as an secondary hue over the branding and other accents.
The photos of the two PEs featured here were posted on the Tar Heels’ official Twitter account (@UNC Basketball). Of course, it is unlikely that these player exclusive Air Jordan 31 and Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO colorways are going to make their retail debut anytime soon or ever.
