If 23 is Back readers had been looking forward to get their hands on some new colorways of the Air Jordan 3 in the coming months, now they might want to change their mind. There is no doubt that the Air Jordan 3 is among those sneaker models from Jordan Brand that sneaker heads yearn to possess. Unfortunately, for the time being, the bad news is that there will not be any more Jordan release dates 2015 and 2014 for the Air Jordan 3 because Jordan Brand ceases its production.
According to a source, David Schechter, the Jordan Brand Vice President of Footwear, is the one who made the announcement. He announced that he Air Jordan 3 is being stashed away “in the vault” for an indefinite amount of time. During a Jordan Brand event that took place on August 28 in New York City, David Schechter made it quite obvious that the Air Jordan 3 “Sport Blue” is the “last color.” The colorway had just made its retail debut on August 16.
23isBack readers probably know that it was the three dunks in a row that Michael Jordan had made back in 1988 that made the Air Jordan 3 so famous. David Schechter claimed that the reason Jordan Brand decided to stop producing this model is because they want to “reset” it. There have been rumors that overexposure of the Air Jordan 3 has been affecting the legacy of this model.
However, at the same time David Schechter also gave some hope by assuring that the Air Jordan 3 will make a “fully remastered” comeback at some point when Jordan Brand decides to produce new jordans of the model once again. 23 is Back readers should also not forget about the remastered retro lineup that is scheduled for spring 2015. Even though there will be no Air Jordan 3s amongst them, sneakers like the “French Blue” 7s, “Oreo” 6s and more provide a reason to look forward to Jordan release dates 2015.
