The Summer Olympics is supposed to be a prestigious event, but as a result of numerous natural and unnatural factors, it seems that this year’s Summer Games may turn out to be disastrous. Less than 50 days prior to the beginning of the Summer Games, a sate of public catastrophe was declared in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The governor claims that the city will not be able to adhere to its commitments to the Olympic and Paralympic Games as a result of a financial crisis. Of course, this is not going to stop footwear brands like Jordan Brand from releasing sneakers to celebrate the Olympics.
Apparently the financial crisis in Rio is very severe. In fact, the education, environmental management, health, mobility and public security in the state could collapse entirely. As of now, essential public services are being rationed by the authorities and the federal government has become liable to provide emergency funds to the state. Usually, governments take measures like these for a natural disaster like an earthquake or flood. For this reason, many currently share the opinion that this year’s Olympics Games should either be cancelled or postponed. However, it does not seem that this will be happening.
The 2016 Men’s USA Basketball roster was officially introduced by the end of last month and it turns out that Jordan Brand will release not one but two patriotic-themed Air Jordan 1 High colorways in commemoration. One of them is dressed up in a combination of Deep Royal Blue and White with Red and Metallic Gold Coin branding. The other is dressed up in a combination of Gym Red and White with a Metallic Silver Nike Swooshes and pure White branding. Although there has been no confirmation of a release date, it can be assumed that both these Air Jordan 1 High colorways will be among July 2016’s Air Jordan releases.
